As linguists, we know that
each mother tongue forms the unique way in which its speakers perceive
the world. Language is thus the origin of the differences between peoples,
dialogue the only means of overcoming them.
The Inttranet has been designed
to enable everyone everywhere to communicate with the world at large.
First, by making it possible to locate and contact the professional interpreters
and translators we all need, in whatever language combination and field,
and second, by providing professional interpreters and translators with
every service and function they need to reply to that demand.
More than this: by enabling
the display of every form of writing, without exception, the Inttranet
preserves one of our most precious birthrights, the world's linguistic
and cultural diversity.
